Originally from Atlanta, GA, Barry Gold is a partner with the law firm of McWilliams and Gold, Chattanooga, TN. Admitted to the both the Tennessee and Georgia Bar in 1983, Barry’s primary area of practice is family law.
Barry is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, where he currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Family Law Section and is a member of the Family Law Section Executive Committee and the Family Law Section Code Committee. He previously served as Chair, Family Law Section Legislation Committee, 2005 – 2006; Chair, Family Law Section Parenting Committee, 2005 – 2006; Legislative Liaison, Family Law Section, 2004 – 2005; Chairperson, Family Law Section, 2003 – 2004; and Family Law Section Newsletter, 1994-1995.
Barry is the present Chair of the Family Law Section of the Chattanooga Bar Association and he is a former Chair of its Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section and the State Bar of Georgia Family Law Section. He also served on the Tennessee Department of Human Services Income Shares Advisory Committee and is a Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Hearing Officer.
His education includes: University of Georgia (A.B., magna cum laude, 1980; J.D., cum laude, 1983). Phi Beta Kappa; Phi Kappa Phi; Phi Eta Sigma. Member: Order of Barristers; National Moot Court Team. Chairman, Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition, 1988-1989. Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Family Law Mediator Certification.
